The year 2018 welcomed us with 365 new opportunities and has lots adventures in store. With the fast paced life everyone is leading the interior trends have also become fast paced! With nuclear families and double income on the rise, minimal yet trendy furniture will set the tone for 2018. Here are a few interior design trends for 2018, shared by Anuja Nawathe, the Technical Lead at ANA.
Colours
Gone are the days when bright flashy colours and chrome finish fittings set the tone for the interiors. The interior design trend predictions of 2018 point towards the emergence of Pastel shades , ombre walls paired with grey tones will be very popular this year.
Metallics
Make your home decor 2018 ready by using brass or gold metallic fittings . These will replace metallic and brass fittings and a pop of bright colour will be the highlight.
Going Natural
Going raw and rustic will be the biggest trend. Use of natural materials like wood, flamed veneers, natural vegetation paired with dark grey natural stone flooring will be in vogue.
Patterns
From being used only on tapestry, geometric patterns will progress to being used on walls as well. Along with geometric patterns, clean straight lines, and linear furniture will be trending this year.
Looks
With distinguishable features such as exposed brick, distressed finishes and polished concrete, the industrial trend is set to be as popular as ever.
Going Subtle
Monochromatic toilets and rooms will be seen throughout. Toilets having the same flooring and dado gives a subtle yet elegant feel to the space.
Flooring
For the mid-end segments large tiles will set the tone for the space to give the space luxurious feel paired along with bright colourful carpets.
Kitchens
The interior design trends that are out include all white, subway-tile kitchen backsplash backgrounds. Kitchens are designed with colorful, handmade ceramic tiles in a variety of colors and sizes, including squares. Tiles are thicker, and more rustic-looking overall.
